Prepping for Final Exhibition!

Our final exhibition will be from 2-4pm in 2 West 13th Street, Room 803. During the morning and early part of the afternoon we'll be setting things up.

Come to class tomorrow morning ON TIME with:
1. ALL THE WORK you've completed this summer.
2. Your sketchbook
3. Your laptop or tablet (if you have one)
4. Your pad of 18 x 24 Newsprint

Instructions for Printing Photoshoot Images:

When your image is ready for print, follow these steps:

1. Save file as .PDF
2. File > Print
3. Select Printer (either i408 ProColor 1 or i408 ProColor 2)
4. Check the box that says "scale to fit media"
5. Go to Print Settings
6. Under media, scroll down to paper + select 11 x 17"
7. Pick up your prints on the 4th floor of 55 West 13th St.

Continue working on unfinished projects, image retouching, + blog. Start on PROJECT STATEMENTS and ABOUT ME if you haven't already.

We will meet in room 303 of 55 West 13th Street tomorrow morning at 9am. Tomorrow we'll be filming sketchbooks + starting to print shoot images, travel posters, + project statements.

  • Figure drawings (at least 3 - ideall 9+)

  • Product / Team Logo
  • Product Photos (front, back, side views)
ABOUT ME - short bio section. Great to include activities outside of art + design.

PROJECT STATEMENTS
Create 3 project statements one for your travel poster, garment, and product. Each project statement should be approximately one paragraph (8 sentences) and address:
-What did you make?
-How did you make it?
-Why did you make it?

SKETCHBOOK VIDEO - will be shot in class

**INSPIRATION - Links, tumblr, pinterest, etc.

Homework + Supplies

1. Finish shooting all your work
2. Come to class w/your work either photographed on the camera (w/cord ready to transfer), w/your work already loaded on your laptop or tablet, or w/your work loaded onto a flash drive. Basically - be ready for digital editing to start!
3. Complete any unfinished projects
4. Bring: digital materials (see above), sketchbook, something to sketch with.

Homework + Supplies for Monday, 7/22

Homework:
1. Work to complete any unfinished projects
2. Complete photoshoot of your paper garment. Photos should be approximately 11" x 14" w/180+ ppi / dpi. Collaborative work on the shoots is encouraged!
3. Email Jessica 3 best images from your shoot by Monday morning: CannonJ@newschool.edu

Supplies:
1. Bring your digital camera to class on Mon. We will begin the process of documenting work.
2. Bring ALL YOUR WORK (process pieces, sketchbook, prototypes, finished work, etc.). The only piece you do not have to bring is your paper garment.
3. 18" x 24" Drawing paper
4. Ruler
5. Graphite Pencil(s)
6. Eraser
